A statue for William Barclay 'Bat' Masterson

There is currently no known statue of the famed lawman, neither in his birthplace in Quebec, his long-time workplace of Dodge City, nor his final resting place of New York City.

Bat deserves better than that.

To contribute to a life-size commemorative statue of the man (which will be crafted by a famous sculptor of Old West art), to be placed at either the point of his demise in New York City or the site of his fame in Dodge City (to be determined), you merely need to send a contribution via Amazon Payments to "mseymour@proofmark.com".

Your contribution will be placed in an escrow account (and noted on this blog) until the statue is ready to be constructed. Your name will be inscribed on the base of the statue (unless you notify us that you would rather your donation be made anonymously) to signify your contribution to preserving the memory of Bat Masterson and his role in American history.
